In the platform settings under "Custom Fees," the platform owner can set additional service fees they wish to charge athletes. By default, Tournated provides a highly competitive service fee structure, allowing platform owners to add their percentage on top while still remaining competitive. The athlete or organizer will be charged the total fees, and in Tournated Analytics, it will be easy to track earnings. For any questions regarding custom fees, please contact hello@tournated.com.
The same applies to licenses and bookings. The governing organization or club can choose to cover the fees, ensuring athletes don't pay anything extra. This is purely a strategic decision made by the organization.
The online payment gateways and processors we’ve integrated support the “Connect” or “Transaction Split” feature, allowing transactions to be automatically divided across multiple accounts.
For example, if the entry fee is $30, with a processing fee of $0.70, a Tournated fee of $1, and a partner fee of $1, participants would pay $32.70, clearly seeing the breakdown of platform and processing fees. From this amount, $30 would be automatically transferred to the organizer, $1 to Tournated, and $1 to you (the platform owner or partner).
First of all, if a sports organization doesn't have licenses or memberships yet, Tournated makes it easy to implement and manage them. For those who already have them, offering additional value to athletes and other stakeholders is a standard practice for increasing these fees.
